Tracking seasonal temperatures and lots of sunshine midweek

THIS AFTERNOON: Wednesday is bright with only a few fair weather clouds and highs in the 70s.

TONIGHT: Skies remain clear overnight allowing temperatures to fall into the 50s through early Thursday.

EXTENDED: Rain returns this weekend with potential impacts from the remnants of Hurricane Helene but it's still uncertain how much rain we receive and how long it lasts. Rain chances pick up by early Friday lasting through Sunday. Totals will be highest in the southeast near I-44, and there will likely be a sharp dropoff to the northwest. Temperatures remain mild under rain and clouds with highs in the 70s through the forecast.
