Overnight lane closures on Highway 63 in Columbia planned for next week

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

One lane in each direction of Highway 63 in Columbia will be closed overnight next week, according to a Monday press release from the Missouri Department of Transportation.

The passing lanes in both directions between Conley Road and Broadway will be closed 7 p.m.-6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30-Saturday, Oct. 5, the release says.

The closures are in preparation for a traffic shift on Oct. 7, the release says. Southbound traffic will be rerouted to one of the northbound lanes, with a concrete barrier separating each direction, the release says. Lanes will be narrowed and the speed limit will be reduced, the release says.

The release says that the work is part of the overall redesign of the Interstate 70/Highway 63 interchange, which is a part of the Improve I-70 Project.
