2 Jefferson City residents displaced after Wednesday morning house fire

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two Jefferson City residents were displaced from their home in the 100 block of North Polk Street after a fire, according to a Wednesday press release from the Jefferson City Fire Department.

The release says that JCFD responded to a fire at a home at 9:55 a.m. Wednesday. No injuries were reported. JCFD said it was an electrical fire that was contained to the kitchen, hallway, a bedroom and roof.

Two people were displaced by the fire and the Red Cross provided support.  The release says that 17 JCFD personnel responded to the fire, along with other first responders.

“The JCFD would like to remind the public to never leave cooking unattended and to evacuate immediately if a fire occurs,” the release says.
