House committee to discuss vaping in schools

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ) -

The Missouri State House committee on Elementary and Secondary Education is set to discuss vaping in schools on Tuesday.

House bill 1682 is aimed at prohibiting vaping in school buildings and on buses. The bill, filed by Rep. David Wood of Versailles, would add vaping products to the current state law banning tobacco from schools.

It would also give school boards the opportunity to adopt any other rules related to vaping.

The committee meeting starts at 8 a.m. Tuesday at the State Capitol.
