Two teens hurt in Chariton County crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two teenagers from Salisbury, Missouri, were hurt in a crash Tuesday morning after trying to turn in the path of an oncoming tractor-trailer.

The crash happened a little before 8 a.m. on Highway 24 at Route Y in Brunswick, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. A 16-year-old girl was trying to make a left turn in a Kia Sportage but did so in the path of an oncoming truck, the report says.

The patrol did not name the girl or her 14-year-old passenger. Both were taken by ambulance to University Hospital.
