COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia man was charged with first-degree child molestation on Friday.

Landan Heithold, 20, is being held at the Boone County Jail without bond. A court appearance was held Monday.

The probable cause statement claims that Heithold sexually assaulted a child several times between June 10-29 and made several comments about the child.

Heithold allegedly admitted to looking at drawn images depicting youth and allegedly sent images to someone who spoke with law enforcement, the statement says. That person showed detectives the images Heithold sent, the statement says.

The probable cause statement says Heithold had “fantasies of killing people” and allegedly told someone – who is cited in the probable cause statement – that “if he started killing, he was afraid that he would not be able to stop.”
