Two Mizzou volleyball players earn SEC weekly honors

After sweeping their home-opening tournament, two members of the Mizzou volleyball team earned SEC weekly honors on Monday.
The Southeastern Conference tabbed rightside hitter Jordan Iliff as the Co-Offensive Player of the Week and Marina Crownover as the Setter of the Week, following their team's 3-0 run in the Mizzou Invitational.
Iliff paced Mizzou with 35 kills on a .443 hitting percentage in the tournament, registering double-digit kills in each of Mizzou's final two games. She also added on 19 digs, seven aces and three blocks over three matches.
The senior currently ranks ninth in the conference for kills and points per set.
Meanwhile, Crownover finished the Mizzou Invitational with 87 assists and 19 digs. In her last two starts against Lindenwood and UT Martin she posted 30 assists or more.
On Sunday, in the win against Lindenwood, the redshirt sophomore posted her first-career double-double with 37 assists and 11 digs. She also tallied three aces to go with one block and a kill.
In 2024, Crownover is averaging about seven assists per set, while ranking sixth in the SEC with 0.47 aces per set.
Up next - the Tigers will hit the road to face Lipscomb in the Lippy Invite on Thursday, Sept. 19. First serve is slated for 4 p.m.
