Tracking a cloudy end to the weekend

TODAY: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers in the afternoon and evening. Rainfall will only amount to a few tenths of an inch in isolated areas. Highs will still be warm in the mid-80s.

TOMORROW: Monday is a near-repeat with clouds and rain lingering but the second half of the day is clearer. Temperatures will again be in the mid-80s.

EXTENDED: The workweek remains dry locally for the entire week ahead. Central Missouri will be stuck between rain to the west and a developing tropical system on the East Coast. Highs come close to the 90-degree mark as a result, about ten degrees above average for mid-September. This pattern will shift by next weekend, potentially bringing a break in the hotter temperatures.
