The Boonville Police Department is investigating a shooting from early Saturday morning that left a 13-year-old boy hurt.

According to a Facebook post from the department, officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 200 block of Third St. a little after midnight on Saturday. When officers arrived they found a group of juveniles outside of a home.

One of the juveniles, a 13-year-old boy, was shot. He was taken to a hospital by ambulance with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, according to the post

Witnesses told officers that a dark-colored car drove by and someone inside the car shot at the group of juveniles. Evidence at the scene showed that multiple shots were fired and a few parked, unoccupied cars had been hit with bullets, according to the department.

Boonville police have not arrested anyone in connection with this incident.
