Police: Man points gun at another driver in Jefferson City

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion that he pointed a gun at another driver Sunday in Jefferson City.

The call came in at about 9:40 a.m., according to a Jefferson City Police Department release. The caller reported driving in the 2400 block of Missouri Boulevard when another driver pointed a gun at them, the release says.

The victim followed the vehicle and described it to officers. A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper stopped the vehicle at Highway 54 and Highway 179 and Jefferson City police found two handguns in the car, the release says.

The man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. Police did not release the man's name pending the filing of charges.
