COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia Police Department is investigating a carjacking that happened early Saturday morning in the 1000 block of Elleta Blvd.

According to a press release from the department, officers responded to the call at around 2 a.m. Saturday. A male rideshare driver told officers he was attacked by two men when they reached their agreed-upon destination.

The suspects stole the victim's 2010 silver Toyota Corolla, according to the release.

Night shift officers searched for the car and suspect for several hours but could not locate either. Day shift officers are now working to review videos from local businesses to figure out which direction the suspect drove off and other information, according to the release.
