Columbia Police arrest man in connection with downtown Columbia shooting
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Columbia Police Department arrested a man Friday afternoon in connection with a shooting in downtown Columbia on Aug. 25., according to a press release from the department.
At around 2:40 p.m. Friday, officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Broadway Blvd. and Highway 63. They arrested Deangelo Grant, 39, of Columbia on an active search warrant for charges of first-degree assault, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon and property damage, according to the release.
The release states the arrest warrant was related to a shots fired incident near 10th St. and Broadway Blvd. One man was hospitalized following the shooting.
After Grant was arrested, the department got search warrants for two homes and found evidence related to the investigation.
