Man charged with assault on 2 Jewish students on University of Pittsburgh campus

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A man has been charged with aggravated assault in an alleged glass bottle attack on two Jewish students on the University of Pittsburgh campus. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Saturday that the 52-year-old suspect is also charged with simple assault, reckless endangering, resisting arrest and harassment. He’s accused of running up and hitting the victims from behind as they walked near Pitt’s Cathedral of Learning on Friday evening. The students were treated at the scene. The Post-Gazette cited a criminal complaint saying one had cuts on his face and the other had cuts on his neck. Police said the suspect has no known Pitt affiliation.
