MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Chesterfield man who was seriously injured in a Sunday evening crash was also arrested, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

According to an MSHP crash report, Alexander Volkomirsky, 41, crashed a 2012 Subaru Forester on Sunday evening in the eastbound lane of Interstate 70 at mile marker 171 in Montgomery County.

The report says the crash occurred as the Subaru went off the right side of the road, hit a guard rail, overturned several times and hit an embankment. Volkomirsky was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, the report states.

Volkomirsky was brought to University Hospital with serious injuries, the report says. He was treated and released, according to a Monday email from an MU Health Care spokesperson.

An MSHP arrest report says Volkomirsky was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving and driving while revoked. Charges have not appeared on Casenet.
