Tracking another day of dangerous heat, few storms Tuesday

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and muggy with lows in the mid-70s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and hot with highs in the upper 90s and heat index values near 105 degrees. A few isolated showers and storms are possible by late afternoon into early evening, especially north of I-70.

EXTENDED: In addition to tomorrow's heat, we'll be tracking a cold front that situates to our north, bringing a chance for isolated showers and storms to areas north of I-70 potentially by late afternoon or early evening. A few of these could be robust, but the risk for severe weather is low. As that front redevelops on Wednesday, we could see a few more late afternoon pop up storms, keeping temperatures feeling like near 100. Thursday is looking hot and humid for one more day with the heat index in the upper 90s ahead of the now southward progressing cold front that could bring scattered showers and storms Thursday night into Friday. We finally get some relief on the other side of that system that will bring temperatures back into the lower 80s by the weekend after rain exits on Friday. It's looking like an awesome Labor Day weekend with dry weather and cooler than average temperatures in the low to mid-80s through Monday.
