‘Hey, can I play with you guys?’ Royals’ Salvador Perez joins kids for a Wiffle ball game

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Royals catcher Salvador Perez spent part of his day off playing an impromptu game of Wiffle ball with a bunch of kids in Kansas City, Kansas. The nine-time All-Star was driving home from lunch at a friend’s house on Thursday when he saw the game going on in a backyard. He parked his car, hopped out and asked, “Hey, can I play with you guys?” The answer was yes, and Perez spent a while swinging a blue bat in a yard where dirt patches marked the bases with a group of young fans.
