Mizzou hoops releases schedule for the 2024-25 campaign

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou men's basketball team released the full slate for the upcoming 2024-25 campaign, on Tuesday. The schedule will feature 12 NCAA Tournament teams and another edition of the Border Showdown with Kansas.

Head coach Dennis Gates and company will be challenged right from the jump, with a trip to Memphis to open up the season on Nov. 4. This matchup will mark the first time that the Tigers have opened up the season on the road since the 2003-04 season.

MU's home opener will come that seem week, on Friday, Nov. 8, when Howard comes to Mizzou Arena.

Overall, the Tigers will welcome 20 schools to Columbia in the 2024-25 season, including nine SEC foes after the New Year. Gates and company will open up that conference slate on the road against Auburn on Jan. 4. The SEC home opener will be against LSU on either Jan. 7 or Jan. 8. The team will also host Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Alabama, South Carolina and Kentucky at Mizzou Arena. While MU will travel to Florida, Texas, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Georgia, Arkansas, Vanderbilt and Oklahoma.

As for rivalry games, the annual Border Showdown will be held in Columbia on Dec. 8 this season, while the Braggin' Rights game will, once again, be at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis. Mizzou and Illinois will tip off on Dec. 22.

Gates and company will take the court with a new-look team, after going 0-18 in conference play through the 2023-24 campaign.

Times and TV assignments for all of the matchups will be announced at a later date.
