COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Heavy rainfall in Columbia led to flash flooding on some roads Wednesday.

Nebraska Avenue near Providence Road and Interstate 70 was flooded and Boone County emergency dispatchers warned of flooding creating a traffic hazard at Vandiver and Paris roads.

Boone Electric Cooperative reported 125 members without power in nine separate outages in Columbia and northern Boone County at about 10 a.m. Power had been restored by noon to about half of those customers.

Ameren Missouri reported about 200 customers in the Holts Summit and Jefferson City areas were without power at about noon. A utility spokesperson said storms caused those outages and restoration times were not immediately available.

Sanborn Field in Columbia picked up 1.31 inches of rain between midnight and about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Radar estimates show that between 1 and 2 inches fell in a band from Brunswick to Columbia, ABC 17 Stormtrack Meteorologist John Ross said. To the south, Pulaski County has picked up that same amount, Ross said.
