Three injured after crash in Jefferson City Tuesday evening

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Three people were injured after a crash on the 2300 block of Missouri Blvd. in Jefferson City on Tuesday evening.

The Jefferson City Police Department said in a press release the crash happened at 5:57 p.m. when a 16-year-old girl in a 2019 Ford Escape attempted to make a right turn onto Missouri Blvd. from a private drive when she went into the path of a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Kathryn Lackman, 23.

According to JCPD, the crash caused the Ford Escape to overturn onto its top.

Lackman, the 16-year-old driver and a passenger in the Ford were all taken to the hospital with injuries.

Police said all three people involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Both vehicles were totaled.
