Traffic impacts expected for day three of Missouri State Fair
SEDALIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The annual Missouri State Fair is the state's biggest agricultural showcase in the state, bringing more than 30,000 attendees each day. With that many people expected, traffic impacts can be expected at and around the fairgrounds on Saturday.
The main gate entrance is located on W 16th St., two other entrances are on US 65, and one entrance is on Clarendon Rd. General admission parking is located alongside W 16th St. and US 65.
Drivers should stay alert for pedestrians, drive slowly, and pay attention to signs posted around the fairgrounds.
If driving is not an option to get to the fair, the fair also has information and discounts on Amtrack tickets for more out-of-reach attendees.
Sedalia commuters should expect high traffic around the train station in the mornings and evenings as well as on Main Street and S Limit Ave.
Just last year, the fair broke the record for total attendees, with just under 350,000 people attending.
The fair will have an open gate system and bag checks. The Missouri State Highway Patrol will be monitoring the fairgrounds throughout the day.
Tickets cost $15 for adults, $10 for seniors over 60, $4 for kids 6 to 12, and free for kids under five.
The fair will run until August 18.
