Jefferson City man charged, accused in Wednesday shooting
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Jefferson City man was charged with two felonies on Friday after he was accused in a Wednesday shooting.
Tristan Saint was charged with accessory to shooting at a vehicle and accessory to armed criminal action. He is being held at the Cole County Jail without bond. An arraignment is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday.
According to the probable cause statement, Jefferson City police stopped a vehicle at the intersection of East Dunklin Street and Clark Avenue at 10:23 p.m. Wednesday. The vehicle had bullet holes and a shattered window, the statement says. Police then received information about a “weapons offense” occurring on Clark Avenue, the statement says.
The driver of the vehicle said he was shot at, but didn’t know who did the shooting, according to court documents. The statement says 18 spent shell casings were found in the area. Police looked at video, which allegedly showed a man leaning outside the window of a white 2023 Volkswagen Jetta who was shooting at the vehicle.
Police then learned that the Volkswagen was apparently involved in another shooting on Monday in the 300 block of West Ashley Street, the statement says. Court documents say that a person matching Saint’s description was involved in a traffic stop in June while driving a white 2023 Volkswagen Jetta.
Police went to Saint’s residence on Thursday and arrested him, the statement says. Officers obtained a search warrant and found four guns in the home.
