Tracking potential future tropical storms in the Atlantic

The Atlantic hurricane season started out with a bang this year with Beryl becoming a Category 5 hurricane in June. Things have been relatively quiet since this point, but there increasing chances of storm chances starting to form near the Bermuda Islands.

The tropical storm development forecast increased to a 60% chance. This has increased as a cluster of storm cells have formed that could grown upscale as they head northwest. The current area of concern shows a potential path towards Florida.

If this cell cluster of storms does grow upscale to a named storm, the next name on the 2024 list would be Debby.

The forecast still remains fairly uncertain, the margin of error of storms five days out or more is around 440 miles. Forecasters are still awaiting more near future models to gain credibility on storm conditions.
