Tracking dangerous heat for the workweek

TODAY: More sunshine is expected as rain stays out until the evening. Temperatures will be warm in the upper 80s but not too hot to head out. A band of showers and storms will track in after 6 p.m. from the west ahead of more overnight rain.

TOMORROW: Scattered rain lingers into Monday morning but will not stop temperatures from warming to the 90s. With high humidity the heat index will reach 100 degrees.

EXTENDED: The heat gets even worse above 105 on Tuesday and possibly Wednesday as well. Thursday is also in triple-digit territory but the heat wave will begin to come down late week. The forecast further into August remains drier and hot as temperatures reach near 90 daily.
