Gov. Mike Parson officially endorsed Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe in the Missouri governor race on Thursday.

In a press release sent by Kehoe’s campaign, Parson said "To keep Missouri moving forward, we need a conservative leader who can get things done as our next governor. That’s why I am proud to endorse Mike Kehoe. Mike will work with President Trump to secure our border, cut taxes, stop China from buying our farmland, and crack down on crime. Teresa and I couldn’t ask for two better people to be Missouri’s next Governor and First Lady than Mike and Claudia Kehoe.”

Kehoe is one of several candidates running in the Republican primary on Aug. 6. The crowded field of nine candidates includes Darrell Leon McClanahan III, Jeremy Gundel, State Sen. Bill Eigel, Robert James Olson, Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft, Chris Wright, Darren L Grant and Amber Thomsen.
