Flood Warning issued July 4 at 9:42AM CDT until July 10 at 4:20PM CDT by NWS Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO

…Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity and
increased in duration for the following rivers in Missouri…

Missouri River at Napoleon affecting Ray, Lafayette and Jackson
Counties.

Missouri River at Waverly affecting Saline, Lafayette and Carroll
Counties.

* WHAT…Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.

* WHERE…Missouri River at Waverly.

* WHEN…Until Wednesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS…At 23.5 feet, Rural areas along the river which are not
protected by levees flood.
At 30.5 feet, Baltimore Bend Levee may be overtopped. Widespread
flooding of farmland, rural homes, along with primary and
secondary roads behind the levee may occur.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 9:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 25.7 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise to a crest of 29.6
feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood
stage Tuesday afternoon.
– Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
