Tracking more rain through the 4th of July
TODAY: After rain ends around sunrise, we'll have some dry time. Skies may allow a few peaks of sunshine through an otherwise mostly cloudy sky before we become overcast again this afternoon.
TONIGHT: A cold front, the one that brough last night's storms, will settle near I-44. Showers and storms will return along the front, with strong storms possible south of the front near I-44 and areas south. The main concern for mid-Missouri will be heavy rain, especially after flooding soaked grounds for some early Wednesday morning.
EXTENDED: A warm front lifts in on Thursday, keeping rain in the forecast, through the morning. Dry time returns through midday, outside of a few isolated to scattered storms. Then a cold front will arrive from the west, triggering widespread storms near sunset through the overnight. We could see strong to severe storms both in the afternoon and along the line overnight. We'll be warm and humid Wednesday and Thursday, with highs in the 80s, feeling like 90s. Drier air and skies return over the weekend, with partly cloudy skies and highs in the 80s. Some rain looks possible by late Sunday into Monday.
