Flood Warning issued July 3 at 2:31AM CDT until July 3 at 11:30AM CDT by NWS Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE…Portions of north central and northeast Missouri,
including the following counties, in north central Missouri,
Chariton, Daviess, Grundy, Linn, Livingston, Macon, Mercer,
Putnam, Randolph and Sullivan. In northeast Missouri, Adair and
Schuyler.

* WHEN…Until 1130 AM CDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 231 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported heavy rain in
the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already
occurring and has been reported in the town of Macon
including along Highway 36. In addition, flooding has been
reported on Highway PP between Osgood and Milan in Sullivan
County Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen.
– Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in
the warned area.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Kirksville, Chillicothe, Trenton, Macon, Brookfield,
Marceline, Milan, Unionville, La Plata, Lancaster, Bevier,
Green City, Queen City, Jamesport, Bucklin, Meadville,
Novinger, Greentop, Atlanta and Laclede.

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
