BEIJING (AP) — The Japanese embassy in China says a man has been detained after a knife attack that injured three people at a bus stop in the city of Suzhou. The wounded include a Japanese mother and child. A Chinese woman on the bus intervened to stop the man from getting on, and he attacked her as well. The Chinese woman was seriously injured and remains in a hospital. The Japanese Embassy says the motive for the attack is unclear. Earlier this month, a Chinese man stabbed four U.S. university instructors at a park in Jilin, along with a Chinese person who tried to intervene.
