Abortion: Onder, a medical doctor, is a strident opponent of abortion and has pushed the anti-abortion cause in the Missouri General Assembly. Onder was one of the legislators who wrote Missouri's near-total abortion ban, which was triggered by the repeal of Roe v. Wade.

Economy: Onder is a fan of lower taxes. In the Missouri Senate, he sponsored bills to lower income taxes. He supports economic policies laid out by former president Donald Trump, including an increase in domestic oil production and rollback of regulations.
