Tracking continued heat and humidity with limited rain chances
TONIGHT: Mostly clear and muggy with increasing clouds overnight. Lows in the lower to mid-70s.
TOMORROW: Mostly sunny with a spot shower or storm through sunset. Highs in the low 90s with a heat index in the upper 90s.
EXTENDED: The heat and humidity are here to stay as upper high pressure continues to hold on out to our east. Highs will be in the 90s throughout the week, but a stalled front to our north tomorrow could increase chances of storms across northwest Missouri. A few pop up storms are possible by late afternoon elsewhere. Heat indices reach the upper 90s to around 100 through the start of the weekend, but a cold front moves in and brings a chance for showers and storms overnight Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures still look warmer than average next week, but we could see lower humidity with more of a west/northwesterly flow in the jet stream early in the week.
