Policy: Eigel is known as one of the most conservative members of the Senate and he touts that reputation in his campaign materials. He has gained recognition around the state in part thanks to his battles with his fellow Republicans in the Senate leadership, who Eigel has criticized as RINOs (Republicans In Name Only).

One of Eigel's priorities in the last session was to put a change in the way the state constitution is amended before voters as abortion petitions circulated for their spot on the ballot. That effort failed because of the infighting and Democratic efforts.

Eigel has pledged mass jailings and deportations of illegal immigrants and says he wants to eliminate property tax and require ballots to be hand counted.
