Broadway Brewery owner charged with domestic assault in Callaway County

The co-owner of Broadway Brewery in Columbia was charged on Monday with domestic assault in Callaway County.

Walker Claridge, 49, was charged with second-degree domestic assault, third-degree domestic assault and fourth-degree domestic assault, a misdemeanor. He is being held at the Callaway County Jail without bond. A court date has not been scheduled.

According to the probable cause statement, Callaway County sheriff’s deputies were called to an Auxvasse residence at 5:29 a.m. Monday for a report of a domestic assault.

The victim allegedly told deputies that Claridge slammed their head into the ground and choked them, court documents say. Deputies saw injuries to the victim’s face, neck and left shoulder, the statement says. The victim also allegedly told deputies that they were assaulted by Claridge in February, court documents say.

Claridge allegedly admitted to throwing the victim off of a bed, holding them on the ground and allegedly said any marks on the victim were caused by him, court documents say.
