Tracking possible pop-ups today

TODAY: Sunny and humid with the heat index up to 100 degrees. The heat could force out pop-up storms throughout the afternoon.

TONIGHT: Rain fizzles out as temperatures cool but it will take until sundown to fall out of the 80s. Lows remain well above average in the 70s.

EXTENDED: Heat and humidity rule throughout the week as upper high pressure situates just to our east, pulling in warmer and humid air from the Gulf of Mexico. Heat indices will be highest early in the week with feels-like temperatures between 99-101 Monday and Tuesday. Chances of rain will be limited but we could see isolated storms on Tuesday and Wednesday, and then a more organized system potentially by Saturday night into Sunday. From there, the pattern could be a little more active to close out the last week of the month.
