Tracking heat, humidity, and limited thunderstorm chances ahead
TODAY: Friday is mostly sunny as storms exit early. Behind overnight rain and the associated cold front, humidity will fall nicely. Highs are expected in the upper 80s under sunny skies, but humidity is low enough to be negligible in today's forecast.
TONIGHT: Skies stay mostly clear overnight, into Saturday morning. Temperatures fall into the 60s with a continued north wind.
EXTENDED: Winds shift Saturday, as a warm front lifts back into the region through the middle of the day. This brings back humidity, but not until late in the day. Showers and storms will be possible through the middle of the day. We'll be dry, but hot and humid on Sunday with highs in the mid-90s feeling more like 100. We'll carry a heat index near triple digits through Monday, with only slightly cooler conditions Tuesday through Thursday. Sunday is mostly dry, but isolated thunderstorms return Monday and linger in the forecast through next week, potentially becoming more scattered in nature on Wednesday and Thursday.
