Tracking evening storms and overnight flooding
TONIGHT: I'm tracking increasing strong to severe storm potential to the south of Highway 50 after 5 pm. This is why an ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day has been issued from 5 pm tonight to 6 am tomorrow morning. Large hail and damaging winds will be the main concern throughout the evening hours, although a quick spin up tornado can not be ruled out. Throughout the overnight hours, concern will turn to strong winds and flooding as storms form into a continuous line to the south. TOMORROW: I'm tracking lingering rain along and south of I-70 through the morning hours with a flooding threat for many of our southern communities during this time period. Clouds and rain will exit throughout the day, setting up for a calm afternoon with temperatures reaching the upper 70s.
EXTENDED: I'm tracking a more dry pattern for the start of next week. Mostly sunny to partly cloudy sky conditions are expected throughout the week, with minimal rain chances on Tuesday and at the end of the week. Temperatures will stay in the upper 70s and low 80s until Wednesday as heat takes over. Afternoon temperatures for the second half of the week will get into the high 80s and low 90s.
