Albany woman killed in Morgan County UTV crash

MORGAN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

An Albany, Missouri woman was killed in a UTV crash in Morgan County Friday evening.

According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jacob Dye, 37, from Albany, was driving a 2023 Polaris RZR up a hill with passenger Shawna Dye, 36, from Albany. The vehicle lost traction and rolled down a hill near The Loop Lake Ozark Offroad Park around 6:15 p.m.

Both individuals were thrown from the UTV.

Shawna Dye was pronounced dead on scene by paramedics. Jacob Dye sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Lake Regional Hospital by ambulance, according to the report.

The report says neither person had a safety device on at the time of the crash.

The UTV sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene.

This is Troop F's second fatal crash in June and the 17th fatal crash of 2024.
