Clarke’s first WPSL goal lifts Missouri Reign to draw with Lou Fusz

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Fresh off a victory in their home opener, the Missouri Reign erased a second half deficit on Thursday night to stay undefeated at R. Marvin Owens Field. Dakota Acock's crew secured a 1-1 draw against Lou Fusz, moving the Reign's home record to 1-0-1 overall.

After Lou Fusz's Maggie Illig broke a scoreless tie in the second half with a goal in the 59th minute, Ayanna Clarke responded with her first career goal in the Women's Premier Soccer League to knot the match at 1-1 in the 79th minute.

Missouri Reign goalkeeper Jessica Kampeter also shut out Lou Fusz in the first 45 minutes of action, making multiple saves to preserve a scoreless first half tie.

Up next - the Missouri Reign hit the road for a matchup with FC Wichita on Saturday, June 8 at 7 p.m.
