Tracking more pool time ahead of end of week rain chances

TODAY: We'll start with partly cloudy skies, and see more sunshine this afternoon. Expect a dry day, with a north northeast breeze near 5-10 mph at most. Highs will be near or just shy of 80, a hair cooler than yesterday.

TONIGHT: We'll be mostly clear overnight, with a light breeze increasingly from the south. Temperatures fall into the 50s.

EXTENDED: Thursday brings back the 80s, with more southerly flow. We'll start clear, but see increasing clouds Thursday as rain nears from the west. We'll likely be dry through the day, with only a slight chance for showers to drift in from the west by the evening. IF they can make it here, they won't last long. A better rain chance arrives Friday. Again, it will be evening focused, so we'll likely have a dry start to the day, with highs reaching only into the high 70s thanks to growing rain chances through the day. This will mostly be showers, but thunder will be possible in the west. Rain may linger into Saturday morning, but we'll have a lot of dry time Saturday afternoon. Temperatures don't change much, with a rainy start keeping us in the 70s Saturday, but 80s are back on Sunday, with likely even more dry time. Storm chances return with a plume of moisture and instability moving in for Monday and Tuesday. With ingredients loosely in place, a shortwave trough moving through the region will drive an active start to next week. This may coincide with a warmup into more summer-like temperatures in the mid-to-upper 80s. Severe weather is not currently anticipated in the forecast.
