Jefferson City man hurt in motorcycle crash; accused of driving drunk

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Jefferson City man was hurt in a motorcycle crash in Cole County on Monday night.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Chad J. Day, 30, of Jefferson City was driving a 2008 Harley Davidson Softtail Custom when he crashed at 9:30 p.m.

Troopers said Day was going northbound when the motorcycle started to skid on the road after entering the curve too fast. He then went off the side of the road and hit a telephone pole.

Day was taken to University Hospital with serious injuries. He was not reported to be wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

A Highway Patrol arrest report states Day was arrested on suspicion of DWI along with reckless driving and no insurance.

As of Tuesday morning, he was reported to be in fair condition.
