Second man charged in alleged Jefferson City armed robbery
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A second man has been charged in an alleged armed robbery that occurred on May 6 in the 500 block of Elm Street in Jefferson City.
Keon Hall was charged with first-degree accessory to robbery, accessory to first-degree assault and accessory to armed criminal action. He was arrested on Thursday and was booked into the Cole County Jail without bond. A court date has not been set. In another case, Hall was charged with receiving stolen property and misdemeanor drug possession. A plea hearing in that case is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Cole County Circuit Court. His bond in that case was revoked.
Hall is accused in the alleged robbery along with Damon Davis, who was charged with first-degree accessory to armed robbery, accessory to first-degree assault, delivery of a controlled substance and armed criminal action. He is being held at the Cole County Jail without bond.
A preliminary hearing in Davis’ case is set for 2 p.m. Thursday, June 6.
According to the probable cause statement, a person described as the victim arrived to the lobby of the Jefferson City Police Department with “obvious injuries to his mouth” including a “swollen upper lip and stitches above his right eye.” The victim claimed he was playing a dice game with friends at Capital City Apartments in the 500 block of Elm Street.
Court documents say the victim stated he was approached by two people – who are described as defendants in the probable cause statement -- one of which allegedly hit him in the face twice with a gun. One of the people pointed the gun at the victim and told him to empty his pockets, while the other one allegedly took $600 and an iPhone, the statement says. The victim ran from the scene and was treated at St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City, the statement says.
The statement says police searched Davis’ vehicle and found a gun, 364.7 grams of marijuana, packaging material, a digital scale and $1,046 of cash, the statement says. Davis allegedly denied knowing about the robbery.
In another case from 2023, Davis was charged in Cole County with second-degree drug trafficking, illegal use of a weapon, illegal gun possession, drug possession and armed criminal action. A notice of denial for public defender services was filed in the case on May 15.
