Tracking rain and storms to start the work week

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and storms moving in overnight. Lows near 60.

TOMORROW: Rain and storms likely. Any severe threat will be low. Highs in the lower 70s.

EXTENDED: Showers and storms filter in tonight ahead of low pressure that is centered out across the Plains. Severe weather isn't expected, but storms will continue off and on through at least Tuesday morning, with up to an inch of rain possible. Tuesday will start off with rain and clouds but eventually dry out as we can expect a quiet Wednesday. A warm front lifts across the region Wednesday night into Thursday, allowing for another shot at rain and storms on Thursday ahead of a cold front. Storms will likely follow along the cold front into Friday, with an additional inch of rain likely. The start of the weekend looks dry with highs in the lower 80s and sunshine on Saturday, but another cold front could drop in on Sunday and bring a chance at more rain and storms. The severe weather risk looks low for much of the week.
