Tracking dry weather for most of Mother’s Day

TONIGHT: I'm tracking a mostly clear night with temperatures falling into the mid 50s by the end of the night. If you missed the Aurora Borealis yesterday, there is another opportunity tonight because of these sky conditions and continued solar flare activity. For optimal viewing conditions, get away from sources of light and look north toward the horizon.

TOMORROW: I'm tracking a mostly dry setup for Mother's Day, leading to a good day to get outside and celebrate. Temperatures will warm up into the low 80s by the afternoon hours and a mostly sunny sky is expected until cloud cover and potential rainfall return. Rainfall is expected to become apparent throughout the rest of Sunday evening.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking this persistent rainfall and rumbles of thunder lasting throughout much of Monday and into Tuesday morning. By the end of this round of activity, 1-2" of total rainfall is anticipated across the region. A period of dry time is expected on Wednesday with more sunshine and temperatures warming up into the upper 70s before more rain chances return Wednesday night. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to last into the beginning of the weekend.
