Insider Blog: Wednesday storms bring flooding, hail, and possible tornadoes

Yet another round of severe storms impacted Mid-Missouri today, with storms tracking through during the daytime. For the late morning commute and afternoon, we had reports of high winds, large hail, and a possible tornado toward I-44.

Several roadways were impacted by flooding in the morning hours. In Morgan County flooding was reported on highways 52 and 135 and highways FF, W, and D. Parts of Blackberry Patch Road south of Stover, and Fairgrounds Road had water on the road. There was also one water rescue on highway 52 in Pettis County.

High winds were reported from a weather station at the Rolla-Vichy airport close to 70 mph. This same storm then intensified as it tracked toward I-44 out of Mid-Missouri and produced a possible tornado near Bourbon and Sullivan.
