COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Jefferson City Medical Group in Fulton

Nurse practitioner Dwight Jones with Jefferson City Medical Group says they continue to see most patients coming into their facility with allergies and upper respiratory infections.

But, Jones says they are still seeing a few cases of influenza and strep throat.

MU Health Care Facilities

Dr. Laura Morris with MU Health Care says influenza appears to be out of season. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has declared the seasonal pandemic to be over after new cases declined over several weeks.

Morris says cases of RSV have declined as expected.

When it comes to COVID-19, the virus has not followed a typical seasonal pattern, Morris said, and MU Health Care continues to see patients returning from travel with respiratory symptoms.

Morris said to manage spring respiratory viruses its best to stay home when you are experiencing symptoms.
