Tracking almost daily rain chances with plenty of dry time between
TODAY: Wednesday is a mostly dry day, with dry time to start, under some clouds. With some breaks in the clouds, you may want your sunglasses. Winds will be variable, until a warm front lifts back across the region, putting temperatures again back near 80. Showers and storms will come along the warm front, with better chances for storms south into the evening.
TONIGHT: Not everyone will see rain, but our best chances will be after 3 p.m. into the overnight, near Marshall, Brunswick, and Macon. An isolated strong storm is possible, but not likely. In the event of a strong storm, our main concern would be hail or winds, but much like yesterday, this threat is mostly west of us.
EXTENDED: We'll climb into the 80s Thursday ahead of a cold front in the afternoon that brings widespread showers and storms. An isolated strong storm or two brings a chance for all types of severe weather, generally west of a line from Mexico to the Lake of the Ozarks. We're cooler and dry with highs in the 70s on Friday. Then a few upper level short waves bring chances for storms Saturday and Sunday, but there will still be plenty of dry time to enjoy over the weekend. We'll have highs in the 70s each day. An active period continues with thunderstorm chances again developing Monday and/or Tuesday.
