Tracking strong storms possible this weekend

THIS AFTERNOON: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Days. Get the latest detailsĀ here. After a rain-soaked morning parts of Mid-Missouri clear out early afternoon. Redevelopment of storms is possible this evening mostly to our west where all severe hazards are possible; current data keeps this activity out of our area but remain weather aware.

TONIGHT: Rain hugs I-44 overnight but expect drier conditions heading further north.

EXTENDED: Saturday now looks mostly dry and warm, with a high in the 80s. Isolated storms remain possible but are tracking north of Mid-MO with the latest guidance. Better storm chances arrive late Saturday night and will bring a chance for all severe hazards. These storms are still ongoing Sunday morning but eventually wind down by midday. Another development of storms, still possibly severe, may materialize along a cold front pushing from west to east through the afternoon and evening. With more rain through the day, we expect to be cooler, but still in the 70s. Next week will be mild to warm, and generally quieter, especially Monday, but by Tuesday we are tracking more chances for rain that grow into Wednesday.
