Hallsville man suffers serious injuries in motorcycle crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Hallsville man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries Thursday morning after crashing his motorcycle on Highway 124.

The crash happened near Shelly Lane between Centralia and Hallsville, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. Thomas O'Brien, 58, encountered a mechanical malfunction while riding his 2007 Honda motorcycle northbound, the report says, and the bike slid on the gravel shoulder.

The motorcycle was driven from the scene.

Information about O'Brien's condition was not available Thursday afternoon.
