Tracking a chilly start to a mild week
TODAY: Monday is the coolest day this week, with temperatures struggling to reach 40s this afternoon. This cool air is part of a pool of cold air that will soon translate eastward, allowing for warmer air to spill in from the northern plains. We'll be partly cloudy this morning, with more sunshine this afternoon. Winds will be from the north sustained at 10-15 mph, before gusting to 20 mph.
TONIGHT: High pressure to our south overnight might keep just enough of a clear and calm influence for temperatures to fall into the mid-20s again.
EXTENDED: Temperatures will warm dramatically Tuesday, into the 60s with warmer air moving in from the west. Skies are sunny, with winds sustained from the west southwest around 10-20 mph, gusting to 30+. We'll gradually pick up clouds Wednesday into Thursday. Temperatures both days top out in the 50s. Chances for rain may return as soon as Thursday night, with another round possible Friday. This comes along a shortwave which may knock temperatures down a tick on Saturday. Right now there's a lot of uncertainty regarding the weekend, but generally speaking, expect a chance for precipitation Saturday night into Sunday and possibly early Monday. This likely falls as rain, with only slim chances at a mix at onset. Plenty will change between now and Saturday, so stay tuned.
