Final hearing in Columbia gas station shooting case pushed back
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A woman charged with assault in a Dec. 19, 2022, shooting at a gas station in Columbia has had her final hearing pushed back.
Jasmine Bell was set to appear at the Boone County Courthouse at 1:30 p.m. for a final disposition and hearing. She had entered a not-guilty plea and posted a $50,000 bond in January.
That hearing has been moved to April 29.
Columbia police responded to a shots fired call to the Break Time gas station at Paris Rd. and Vandiver Dr., where they found a man with gunshot wounds.
Surveillance footage shows people in two cars getting into an argument, with one of them being Bell and Terrance A. Johnson Jr.'s car.
Johnson then got out of his car with a rifle and shot several rounds at the victim in the other car. Police found the victim lying on the ground holding a gun. He was transported to the hospital by EMS.
A witness at the scene told ABC 17 News that she heard about 15 gunshots fired.
Police were able to determine Bell was with Johnson after seeing her get out of the vehicle on surveillance video at Johnson's apartment, according to a probable cause statement.
Johnson is charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action and shooting a gun at a motor vehicle/person. He is being held in the Boone County Jail
