Tracking several warm days and a few potentially stormy evenings ahead

TODAY: A warm day is ahead, with mostly sunny skies this morning and partly cloudy skies this afternoon. Winds from the south will be sustained from 10-15 mph and gust up to 20-25 mph at times. Temperatures reach into the 70s.

TONIGHT: Isolated storms may develop this evening. Should storms develop early enough in the evening, a storm capable of hail and damaging winds cannot be ruled out. However, it's unclear if this happens at all thanks to a relatively strong cap in place. Temperatures remain near 50 overnight.

EXTENDED: Wednesday brings a warm front through in the afternoon, climbing temperatures into the upper 70s, but also driving a chance for thunderstorms. There will be a slightly better chance of a strong to severe storm Wednesday evening. Storm chances are best north of I-70 and west of HWY 63. Thursday is another warm day, with highs reaching into the 70s. A cold front will bring this warmth to an end, and yet another chance for severe storms. Currently, it looks like this round of storms Thursday afternoon, comes along and east of HWY 63, with chances even better in areas like Montgomery City, Hermann, and Rolla. Timing of the front needs to be watched carefully, as this plays a big role in placement of storms. We'll be cooler and mostly dry over the weekend.
